Screening is testing done on people who are at risk of getting cancer, but who have no symptoms and generally feel fine. Cancer screening can detect cancer at an early stage when there is a better chance for successful treatment.
The Toronto Western Family Health Team operates a number of programs and initiatives to screen for cancer. Early detection is the best way of treating cancer and these programs work to that end.
